Palenque, Mexico
Slideshow walkthrough the archaeological site at Palenque containing the ruins of a Mayan ancient city dating from ca. 226 BC to ca. 799 AD. The ancient city has a planned urban layout with residential areas, sanctuaries, palaces and the largest funerary pyramid in the classical period.
