San Cristobal de las Casas is a historic highland town in Chiapas, southern Mexico, known for its well-preserved Spanish Colonial Architecture. It is attracting many tourists due to the lively pedestrian cobblestone streets, colourful architecture and customs and festivals like 'Dia de los Muertos' for example.

Palenque, Mexico
Slideshow walkthrough the archaeological site at Palenque containing the ruins of a Mayan ancient city dating from ca. 226 BC to ca. 799 AD. The ancient city has a planned urban layout with residential areas, sanctuaries, palaces and the largest funerary pyramid in the classical period. The city was abandoned in pre-Hispanic times and the site was protected by the dense rainforest vegetation.
